Carl Reiner

This movie is very obscure. Believe me, it's worth searching out. The performances were all top-notch, especially that of Jose Ferrer. The audition scene will make you laugh out loud. The quality of both the DVD, and Zeus' service were great! Highly recommended!

This was a movie I very much enjoyed when it first came out and my wife had never seen it. So I ordered a copy both so she could see it and to have in my library of DVDs for re-watching in the future. It is not a movie that is in the TCM library, evidently. I have never seen it broadcast on that venue.

Enjoyed this hard to find DVD. Thanx be to Zeus!
This is quite a funny film. I think Jose Ferrer steals the movie!

Glad to find this obscure but very amusing comedy directed by Carl Riener.

In this film based on Carl Reiner's early years on stage, Rene Santoni is an aspiring teenage actor attempting to join a third-rate theatrical troupe. His total incompetence on the stage is pretty funny and Jose Ferrer is wonderful as the director with a drinking problem. Elaine May co-stars as his high-strung actress daughter. There is a great cast of supporting players with Shelley Winters doing a great job as the nagging Jewish mother.
If you've never seen "Enter Laughing", give it a try. It is a wonderful comedy.
