Marisol's parents are dead, and she decides to sell everything she has and go to Madrid with her uncle's Ramon family. Leonor, her aunt, is a very bad woman that doesn't like Marisol and doesn't treat her as one of the family, forcing her to have lunch and dinner in the kitchen with the maid, Herminia. She only lets her be in the house because the girl has brought with her a great amount of money and the family is in a poor situation at the moment. The marriage has three children, two adults, a man and a woman, and a girl, and Marisol has secretly taken a little friend she met in the train when she was arriving to Madrid.
