Our Vines Have Tender Grapes (1945)

This movie has nothing to do with grapes or vines. Robinson plays a farmer and is so good. He is kind and hard working, and loves his family and friends. Its in a time when neighbors looked out for each other and their kids too. Kids made their own fun and families didnt have much but shared what they had when needed. They ordered things from the catalog, if you can remember that. Remember the Sears catalog? James Craig was good too. He was an editor but not like today. He was helpful to the town as his father had been. He was a friend to the kids. Everyone knew everyone and cared about their friends and family. There is a lovely Christmas part you will really like. The kids get into an unsafe situation and many people come out to try to help save them. It is about the importance of family and friends in a time not like today. When life mattered to most everyone. When doing a good deed was the normal. Margaret O'Brien is about 6 and is so good in this. She was good in all her movies. She was inspirational to the town without even knowing it just by having a good heart. I hope you will get it because I know you wont be sorry. It truly is a feel-good movie.
