this film gives you a chance to see, in what were only three films that she made, this being the first, the great star of Broadway in the 1920's, Marilyn Miller. Unfortunately, this is a very poor film, although the quality of the print is good. This was Miller's first film, and it is based on one of her Broadway hit shows. But this film version of the show, only sports one hit tune from the show, "Who?", sung early on in the film. Only a few dance routines by Ms. Miller, a cast of supporting "nobodies", and a lackluster score, make this film a dud. Look for Ms. Miller's second film, "Sally", which at least gives you Joe E. Brown as a co-star, the song, "Look For the Silver Lining", and a technicolor production number, in order to get some clue as to the star quality of Marilyn Miller, who, actually, never showed anything on film at all, as to what she apparently did have on the stage.
