The "Llano Kid" is a 1939 remake of the !930 film "The Texan" with Gary Cooper and Fay Wray. The star, Tito Guizar, was a very popular Mexican actor and singer. In fact, he sang at Carnegie Hall, which Cooper never did! The movie follows the plot line of its predecessor: Tito pretends to be Enrique Ibarra, the lost son of a wealthy Mexican family so he can steal their fortune. The mother is played by Emma Dunn who played the same role in the 1930 version. The Llano Kid is aided in this scheme by two ne'er do wells played by Alan Mowbray and Gale Sondergaard. At only 70 minutes, the film moves at a brisk pace. In some ways, the "Llano Kid" is a better movie than the 1930 version. For one thing, Tito Guizar is more believable as the heir of a Mexican family than Gary Cooper! I highly recommend the movie and suggest that you check it out on Zeus, the place to go for those old movies you can't seem to find anywhere else!
