Variety Girl (1947)

great print, and almost everyone on the Paramount lot at the time, (save a pregnant Betty Hutton) took part in this film. The film introduced a singer named Mary Hatcher, who only made a few films. I think that Paramount wanted her to be their answer to MGM's Kathryn Grayson, as Hatcher was a soprano. Unlike Grayson, however, Hatcher could also belt and dance. AND she looks exactly like Kathryn Grayson. Finale number called "Harmony" is great fun, as almost everyone takes part in the number. Look for a very embarassed Burt Lancaster at the end of the number!
