Bright Victory (1951)
Posted by Kenneth W. Orme on Apr 3rd 2015
An obscure American postwar drama about a WWII veteran's adjustment to a destroyed optic nerve, BRIGHT VICTORY shines due to strong, credible performances by leads Peggy Dow and Arthur Kennedy. Kennedy was cited as Best Actor of the Year by the New York Film Critics' Circle for his performance. Though slanted towards romance, the picture also deals frankly with racial prejudice. Lighting is excellent, sound acceptable. Worth a viewing.
