A dream vacation to 1935 Paris becomes a nightmare for a honeymooning couple when the young groom, a French diplomat, suddenly finds himself blackmailed by crooks who threaten to tell the authorities that he is a bigger crook than they. The trouble is, the new husband is an honest man and doesn't understand what they want. Things get worse, when the extortionists follow through on their threat and he is tried for robbery. Both the blackmailers show up in court to testify against him. Fortunately, another man shows up and dramatically clears his name. The story takes a very strange turn when the newly acquitted fellow goes to thank his saviour and learns that he is the mastermind behind the extortion. He also learns why he is being blackmailed and must then somehow find a way to extricate himself without going to prison.
