Nine Hours To Rama (1963)
Posted by Kenneth W. Orme on Apr 3rd 2015
Examining the final nine hours in the life of the man who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi in 1948, this Mark Robson film becomes bogged down in an unconvincing romance underlined by a music theme used earlier by Malcolm Arnold in WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND, a superior film by far. Suspenseful when tracking plotters, the movie fizzles wherever female diversions are introduced. Worth a look for Jose Ferrer's police supervisor, but Horst Buchholz's killer is no Indian and much too hysterical.
