The Connelly brothers are looking for The Crow, a person who is called 'the meanest son-of-a-bitch this side of the Rio Grande ' and who is responsible for the death of their father. While playing detective, they stumble upon a load of gold which turns out not to be a load of gold, are confronted with bandits who want their 'load of gold' back, meet a guy with no less than five mentally deranged sons, and must face a bad guy who wants to kill them for one reason or another. To kill the time, some of the most ridiculous fistfights and shootouts ever filmed are thrown in, as well as some downright ridiculous attempts at witty humor on dialogue level. Finally a black-clad mystery man rides in, and it's The Crow. In other words: it's time for the William Berger show. And yes, it's a lot more fun after his arrival. Berger does what he's very good at: looking awfully cool. At the same time the expression on his face says something like: What the hell am I doing here? But okay, he showed up, so let's not complain.
