Passport To Pimlico (1949)

This is an amusing story about a small portion of London discovered to actually be a part of Burgandy, France! It is a madcap comedy of that era. All in all fun to view, but far from a classic. More Margaret Rutherford wouldn't have hurt either.

From the late 1940s until the early 1950s, Britain's little Ealing Studio put out a series of charming and delightful comedies. Of these, Passport to Pimilico is probably the earliest example, where a whimsical premise is then carried to its logical conclusion. Full of wonderful British character actors and types, led by the great Staley Holloway. Also a fascinating glimpse into the difficulties of post-World War II England.
