Samson And Delilah (1949)

Cecil B. DeMille's "Sampson And Delilah" (1949) is played more as a campy hoot--for laughs-- rather than for reverence. Victor Mature and Hedy Lamarr are wooden as the Biblical pair. Ms. Lamarr does a tepid job of being seductive. At least she TRIES-- but her acting "Skills" and emotions are fairly non-existent.
No matter, because the script is peppered with great, campy dialogue throughout, and Angela Lansbury and George Sanders are on hand to give this movie a touch of class.
Lansbury plays Sampson's preferred love interest, who is also Delilah's doomed younger sister. And, as always, Sanders steals every scene he is in.
Once Delilah vowes revenge on the strongman, Sampson seems to accept the fact that she will be his doom. He calls her the "Courtesan Of Gaza", adding, "You could teach the Devil a few tricks." It all comes crashing down in grand DeMille style.
