But again, a chance to see Nancy Carroll, the first actress groomed for talkies, who didn't have a background in either silent films, or in the theatre. Also good if you want to see Helen Kane, the "Boop Boop A Doop" girl - she has much to do in this film. But the film still doesn't hold up. Highlight is Jack Oakie's production number, with all the collegiates, "The Alma-Mammy". This number could be thought of now as offensive, but it's still rather funny if you consider it's place and time.
