The Four Feathers (1929)

Probably the only remaining silent version of "The Four Feathers" (the earlier two seem to be lost films). I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of the kit and uniforms - even the Egyptian soldiers were wearing the proper uniforms. Another plus is an appearance of actor William Powell as one of the officers. While it is not quite in the same league as the 1930s remake it stands well on its own.

Good copy of silent movie, full of old equipment, many original artefacts etc
The familiar story done in spectacular style. Astonishing scenes of wildlife. A quality copy on a workable dvd, very pleased.

Wonderful, non-stop action from the future director of "King Kong." Silent (you won't hear Fay Wray scream),it has an exuberant musical score &, as you might expect from this director, much exciting animal as well as human action. I much prefer it to the better known remake 10 years later.
