Shadrach Jones, ex-Texas State Policeman, has a ruthless determination to find and kill the man who shot his brother in the back and stole the money with which he was to buy a ranch for he and Shadrach. At the saloon-hotel ran by Adelaide, Shadrach is convinced that one of the cowhands on a cattle drive by Captain McKellar to Montana is the killer, and he takes the trail-herd boss job to identify the man. McKellar preaches to Jones that he should forget revenge and let the law of retribution take care of the killer. Shadrach's hard driving of the men and his hunt for the killer makes him bitterly hated, and his retribution quest ends in a manner he has not anticipated.

Good reproduction by ZEUS DVDs

I really like Wild Bill Elliott, and I already had most of his Westerns, the B-series ones and most of the larger budget films. But I lacked SHOWDOWN, which Zeus has, I ordered a copy, and it came safely and securely (and also inexpensively). The quality is in every way very good, and I can recommend it to anyone searching for a copy of that elusive oater!

Could not find movie, wasn't available on DVD until Zeus. Quality was good, delivery time was very good...Overall experience with Zeus was very good.....

Wild Bill Elliott is the original quiet, dangerous cowboy. Eastwood probably learned from him. There's a moody darkness that pervades the movie, THE SHOWDOWN; a perfect fit for Elliott's character. THE SHOWDOWN is one of Elliott's best, and if you like ol' Wild Bill, don't miss this one.
